Blog: A is for Agility —

Typically, when we hear the word agility we associate it with physical agility, not business agility. However, in the same way that physical agility is important in successful sporting outcomes, business agility is vital to business success. I was once told businesses could be compared to boats: speed boats are very agile and can change direction very quickly with little effort while barges take a great deal of time and effort to change their direction.

Regardless of a company’s size, most agile businesses have several common traits. Agile business leaders have a clear and well-defined vision for their business, have access to accurate and timely information about all areas of their business—be it financial, operational, personnel, marketing, etc.—and they have a strong pulse of the markets they serve. Agile companies are also quick to make decisions based on the market challenges they face or opportunities that arise. It’s important to recognize quickly if changes need to be made and to have a structure in place to act quickly. How would you rate your company’s agility?

We were very pleased to have such a knowledgeable and experienced company in our corner with the team at Cetane. It was obvious that they knew the best process and how to get the ball over the goal line. Their advice throughout the process was greatly appreciated and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them.
