CETANE CELEBRATES 15TH ANNIVERSARY

KENT, Conn. – April 15, 2021 – Cetane Associates LLC announces a 15-year milestone of providing expert financial advisory services to business owners in the retail energy distribution industry. With the advice and guidance provided by Cetane, hundreds of retail energy business owners have successfully accomplished their transition goals.

Cetane’s founder Steve Abbate recognized a need to provide business owners with experienced, specialized advice to help them realize maximum return on their business. In seeking the best results, Cetane looks to match the right buyers with their clients and takes in not only the financial aspects but also important considerations such as employees, customers, and the legacy of the business. From its 2006 start, Cetane’s founding spirit remains the same today: to deliver financial services that create a winning result for business owners.

Through its ongoing commitment to excellence, Cetane has achieved winning outcomes. As Steve says, “When I started the company it was a leap of faith.  I always tried to live by a lesson I was taught by one of my favorite authors, Zig Ziglar, who said that in order to get what you want out of life, you have to help other people get what they want. We have helped hundreds of owners achieve their transition goals. It’s more than getting the most money for an owner, it’s about getting the best transaction in every aspect, for both the buyer and the seller. That’s what makes a truly successful transaction.”

The business has developed over time, yet the philosophy of doing business hasn’t wavered. Steve says it best, “A big motivation to start my business was to give business owners a chance to fairly compete for more value when they were ready to sell. They had worked hard for years, often decades, and to realize their dreams of selling and moving on created a win, win. I’m glad I was able to use my many years of experience in the delivered fuels industry to branch off and start a company that serves the true heart of the industry, the family-owned businesses.”

The 15th anniversary follows several more recent initiatives and accomplishments of the company including:

• Meeting the needs of its growing client base, the company now includes a specialized team of professionals with many years of experience in acquisitions, valuations, financial analysis, legal review, business development, marketing, and administration
• Geographic growth and expansion from the northeast region to nationwide coverage
• Enhanced digital communication by delivering its message through a new video-focused website launched in 2020, and social media platforms

Longtime team member Doug Woosnam says, “I joined Steve nine years ago and Cetane became a team of two.
