Cetane’s Summer Intern’s Observations
This summer Texas A&M rising sophomore Matthew Bosarge joined Cetane Associates, financial advisors specializing in M&A transactions, to learn some of the front and back ends of acquisitions and the broader aspects of the industries the firm serves. As a business school student with a major in finance, 20-year-old Matthew is also an Eagle Scout and belongs to leadership and business organizations in Houston.
When asked about his experience, Matthew replied, “The veteran directors have been great in sharing with me industry norms and observations they have learned from their extensive experience in the propane and pest control industries. I’ve been able to assist in the creation of databases which are used as tools for business growth, understanding economic trends in different states, and analyzing deals. During my internship, I’ve been taught the details that go into accounting, client relations, and finance in a professional and friendly business setting.”
Matthew’s internship provided him with the chance to become more proficient in Microsoft Excel which influenced him to explore future potential professions in finance and accounting. He enjoyed engaging with every member of the Cetane team even though the team is spread over different states. He commented, “I realize how a nontraditional office setting can be efficient and close-knit at the same time. I hope to bring what I have learned from my summer internship back to A&M for my sophomore year, so that I may research new majors or career paths I may have overlooked.”
